Everything's Possible

Everything's Possible

INTRODUCTORY NOTES

Everything is possible. After 35 years of trying to be someone I was not, I learned the greatest lesson of all...accepting myself for who I really am. Wondering through careers singing opera, teaching university and now conducting, living in America and foreign countries, surviving marriage and fundamentalism as well as living with the continuing joys of fatherhood, all have resulted in an irrepressible need to present this collection of songs. There is a tremendous yearning in the Gay and Lesbian community for affirmation in every part of our lives. It is my hope that in this music, you will find moments of encouragement, solitude and solace as we all journey together.

"The only measure of our words and deeds is the love we leave behind when we're gone."
Fred Smalls, The Flirtations

"Love is what we are born with. Fear is what we have learned here. The spiritual journey is the unlearning of fear and the acceptance of love back into our hearts."
Marianne Williamson A Return To Love

The songs in this recording were chosen with great care to tell a story about my life and the lives of those around me. Several of the songs were composed by talented artists already lost to AIDS. It is a tribute to all the men and women who have been touched by this disease and to those who will follow. This project is dedicated to my children, Corianna and Judson, my partner, Louis, my friend; John and my "chosen family."
